Foresters Power Past Indiana East
Huntington, Ind. – The Huntington women's tennis team bounced back in style on Tuesday afternoon, cruising to a 6–1 win over Indiana East at Klopfenstein Courts. The victory moves the Foresters to 2–1 on the season.
HU started strong in doubles, taking the top two courts with authority. Tiziana Rizzato and Isabella Herrera secured a 6–1 win at No. 1, while Coby Sander and Ashley Bucur paired up for a 6–2 decision at No. 2. The No. 3 doubles match was a default win for the Foresters as IU East competed with just five athletes.
In singles action, the Foresters claimed five of six contests. Addison Mast set the tone at No. 1 with a 6–2, 6–4 win, followed by Yariange Bello's dominant 6–3, 6–0 performance at No. 2. Bucur continued her strong play with a 6–1, 6–0 sweep at No. 3, while Sofia Kurshinskaia added another point at No. 5 with a 6–3, 6–2 finish. Grace Meyer was awarded a default victory at No. 6 singles.
With the win, Huntington improves to 2–1 on the season. The Foresters will host Cedarville on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
