Hines and Franklin recognized by Crossroads League
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – HU junior Breanna Hines and sophomore pitcher Karlee Franklin were among the list of Crossroads League All-Conference honorees as announced by the league office earlier today.
Hines has been recognized by the league each spring with this year's designation a Second Team honor as Huntington's DP. She was a Second Team pick as a rookie and last season was tabbed Honorable Mention.
The Frontier High School product (Brookston, Ind.) paced HU at the plate with her team-leading 46 hits. She also led her team with 24 RBI and a .331 batting average. She scored 19 times, drew ten walks and struck out just twice this season.
Franklin, with eight wins to her name this season, was picked as a member of the Honorable Mention Team, the first All-Conference praise of her young Forester career. She is fifth in the league in strikeouts with 127. Her 2.66 ERA ranks eighth among her CL peers.
Over the course of the year, the McCordsville native (Mt. Vernon HS) tossed 139.2 innings and gave up 140 hits, 59 runs, 53 of which were earned, and 42 walks. She averaged 6.37 strikeouts per seven.
The Foresters finished the season with an overall record of 20-28.
