Tantera Powers No. 17 Foresters, Earns CL Weekly Honor

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Graduate student Julian Tantera has been named the Crossroads League Men's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the Crossroads League office.

Tantera led No. 17 Huntington to a dominant 7-0 sweep over Lawrence Tech. Competing at No. 1 singles, the nationally ranked standout earned a 6-0, 6-3 win before teaming up for a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles.

Currently ranked 15th nationally, Tantera has played a key role in four of Huntington's five wins being shutouts this season. The Foresters are 5-1 overall with their lone loss coming against NCAA Division II Wayne State University.

Huntington returns to action Saturday with an 11:00 a.m. road match at Holy Cross College.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 181 NAIA All-America honors and 631 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
