Jimenez and Hanni two of the nation’s best
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2023 NAIA Men's ITA Collegiate Tenis National and Regional Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point with several Foresters earning high praises.
National rankings include the Top 50 singles players and Top 25 doubles teams, while the regional rankings includes the Top 20 single players and Top 10 doubles teams.
Junior Andres Jimenez and sophomore Facundo Hanni Elias ranked 22nd on the list of the nation's top 25 NAIA doubles teams. The HU duo was the only Crossroads League pair to appear on the esteemed list. Regionally, they ranked sixth in the east region.
Graduate students Mateo Ameller and Agusto Fajardo were also honored at the regional level. The twosome was ranked #9 on the doubles list for the east region.
The Foresters, currently ranked #21 nationally, finished second in the CL regular season standings with a record of 7-1 and wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule with an overall record of 9-2.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 154 NAIA All-America honors and 501 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
