Forester Trio Recognized Among Crossroads League’s Best

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Crossroads League announced its men's soccer postseason awards this week, with three Huntington University Foresters earning recognition for their performances during the 2025 campaign.

Junior Kovan Drenth headlined HU's honorees as one of six defenders named to the All-Crossroads League First Team. The steady 6-2 right center back anchored a Forester defense that surrendered just 22 goals across 18 matches while recording seven shutouts on the year. In addition to his defensive prowess, Drenth contributed offensively with one goal—a game-winner against Cornerstone—and a team-best five assists, ranking fifth among all players in the league.

Senior Thiago Fernando was named Honorable Mention All-League after a strong final season in green and white. The dynamic forward paced Huntington's attack with seven goals and 14 total points, finishing tied for eighth among league scoring leaders.

Graduate student Douglas Appiah Kubi also earned Honorable Mention All-League honors for his leadership and consistency in the midfield. A key playmaker for the Foresters, Appiah Kubi tallied three assists while helping control the tempo and flow of HU's possession throughout the season.

The Foresters closed out the 2025 campaign with a 4-9-5 overall record, including a 2-5-2 mark in Crossroads League play to finish sixth in the regular season standings.
