HU Drops Road Test to Unbeaten (RV) Madonna

LIVONIA, Mich. - The Huntington men's soccer team came up short in a 1-0 decision at #RV Madonna University on Saturday at MU Soccer Field. The setback drops the Foresters to 0-3-2 on the season while the Crusaders remain unbeaten at 5-0.

The contest turned into a defensive battle as both sides finished with just six shots apiece with HU's all coming in the final 45 minutes. Madonna capitalized late in the first half when Alex Peytoureau found the back of the net in the 39th minute off an assist from Jordy Lopez. That goal would stand as the game-winner.

In goal, Jorge Gonzalez absorbed the loss for HU, collecting two saves across the 90 minutes. Despite Huntington's second-half push, the Foresters were unable to break through against Crusader keeper Afonso Henrique, who tallied one save in preserving the shutout.

Madonna's early-season run has included four wins over Crossroads League opponents, highlighted by a 9-0 rout of Goshen, a 2-1 win over Taylor, and a 4-0 decision over Saint Francis.

The Foresters return to King Stadium on Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff against Cornerstone.
