Pole Vaulters Shine Despite Weather-Shortened Meet

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Huntington pole vaulters made the most of a unique competition setup Wednesday afternoon at Indiana Tech's Only 40 Degrees Invite, where uncooperative weather forced a shift indoors and limited the meet to jumps and pole vault.

Despite the change in format, the Foresters delivered strong performances on both sides. Caleb Farr led the way for the men with a third-place finish, clearing 4.65 meters. On the women's side, Emma Schiffli also turned in a solid showing, taking fourth after surpassing 3.23 meters.

The Foresters will look to build on that momentum when they return to action April 10-11 at the Tennessee Invitational, hosted by the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 181 NAIA All-America honors and 631 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. Huntington has a top quartile ranking in the 2026 U.S. News Best Regional Universities Midwest Rankings.
