Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Huntington University women's indoor track & field team opened 2026 at the Indiana Tech Invitational, turning in strong performances across sprints, middle distance, distance, and field events at the Doug Edgar Indoor Track. 

Freshmen made an immediate impact in the quarter-mile: Saniya Brinkley placed seventh in the 400 meters (1:02.27), followed by Anna Sullivan in 11th (1:03.95). 

Sophomore Olivia Howell turned in one of the top middle-distance performances of the day, finishing second in the 1000 meters (3:02.12), while senior MacKenzie Brewer was third (3:12.18). Senior Shaylynn Reyes anchored the distance group with third in the mile (5:26.01) and sixth in the 3000 meters (11:05.32). 

The field events were highlighted by juniors Trysta Hilton and Anna Jeannin, who each cleared 1.58m in the high jump to tie for third place. Jeannin also recorded 12th in the long jump (4.84m). Freshman Maya Gerber led the throwing events with sixth in the shot put (12.38m) and 13th in the weight throw (13.44m).
