Foresters come up empty at Grace

WINONA LAKE, Ind.  – In a neighborly conference clash, the Huntington women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 road loss to Grace Saturday night under the lights at First Source Bank Field.

The loss drops HU to 6-8-1 overall which includes a 2-5 CL record. With two regular season games remaining, the Foresters are sitting seventh in the league standings.

The game's only goal, at the foot of Sam Vondersaar, came in the 21st minute to give the Lancers (3-9-2, 1-4-2) their first league win of the season. The hosts kept play mainly in their offensive third as verified statistically by firing 18 shots to HU's two and enjoying a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Ireland Aerni took the loss between the poles having finished with seven saves.

The regular season wraps up next week with a home match for the Foresters against #9 IWU on Wednesday and a road trip to #8 Marian on Saturday.
