ANDERSON, Ind. – The Huntington women's soccer team slipped past Anderson 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Fridley Field for their second straight victory. The win bumps up HU's record to 3-1-1 on the year.
Last season was the first time under the leadership of Coach David Lewis these two squads have met up with last fall's outing ending in a 2-2 draw.
Madeline Gile made sure that wasn't the case this season. For the second time in as many games, the junior forward found back netting. She scored the game's lone goal in the 68th minute to lead the Foresters to another W.
As a team, the guests outshot the Ravens 18-10 with six on frame to AU's five. Huntington keeper Ireland Aerni collected all five of the hosts' shots on target to claim the shutout.
Lewis and crew return to King Stadium on Tuesday to host IU Kokomo under the lights at 7:00 p.m.
