Bio

Rick Sholund enters his first season as head coach of the Huntington University men's golf program after returning to the Forester coaching staff last year as an assistant. A familiar face on campus, Sholund previously spent six seasons leading the men's program and also served four years as head coach of the women's team during his earlier tenure at Huntington. Additionally, he is also assisting the HU women's golf program.

A highly respected instructor and golf professional, Sholund brings decades of experience in coaching, player development, and competitive golf. He currently serves as owner and general manager of Eagle Glen Golf Club in Columbia City, Indiana, where he continues to impact golfers of all ages and skill levels.

In addition to his work at Eagle Glen, Sholund was the owner and lead instructor of Praxis Performance Coaching, providing comprehensive golf instruction and performance training. His background also includes three years as director of operations at a regional golf facility, further broadening his expertise in all facets of the game.

As a player, Sholund enjoyed a successful 10-year professional career. His accomplishments include a seventh-place finish at the Indiana State Open in 1998 and a third-place finish in 1999. He qualified for the Nike Tour St. Louis Classic in 1998 and competed in the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament from 2000-02. His professional experience also included competing on the Dakotas Tour, NGA Pro Golf Tour, and several other professional circuits throughout the country.

Sholund's commitment to player development is reflected in his extensive certifications and training. He is a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Level 2 Power Coach and Level 2 Junior Coach, holds a Functional Movement Screen (FMS) certification, and is Level 1 certified in K-Vest 3D Technologies.
