Record-Breaking Weekend Nets Busam League Praise
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Jan Busam has been named the Crossroads League Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season following a record-breaking weekend.
Competing at the Grand Valley State Big Meet, Busam hit NAIA-A standards in both the 400-meters and the 4x400-meter relay while finishing top-three in each event.
Busam bettered his own school record in the 400 with a time of 47.56 - currently the fourth-fastest mark in the NAIA this season. As part of the 4x400 relay, Busam and his teammates set a new program record with a time of 3:10.66, the fastest in the NAIA to date.
The Foresters now turn their focus to the Crossroads League Indoor Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on February 20-21.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
