Foresters rewrite record book at GVSU Big Meet

Allendale, Mich. – The Huntington University men's indoor track & field team delivered a statement performance on Friday at the GVSU Big Meet, highlighted by two school records, two NAIA A standards, and a national No. 1 ranking. 

Sophomore Jan Busam led the charge with a school-record 47.56 in the 400 meters, earning an NAIA A standard and tying for fourth nationally. Moments later, Huntington's 4x400 relay of Busam, Noah Wellington, Celestin Trambloy, and Jaden Williams shattered the school record in 3:10.66, earning another NAIA A standard and moving to No. 1 in the NAIA.

HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Jan Busam placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 47.56, earning an NAIA A standard. 

  • Noah Wellington followed close behind in the 400 meters, running 48.01 for an NAIA B standard. 

  • Huntington's 4x400 relay finished third overall in 3:10.66, securing an NAIA A standard. 

  • Caleb Farr recorded a fourth-place finish in the pole vault.
