Foresters Stay Hot as Williams Collects Weekly CL Honor
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Sophomore Jayden Williams added his name to the Crossroads League honor roll with a dominant weekend on the track.
Williams was named the Crossroads League Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after posting a pair of automatic qualifying performances at the Crossroads of America meet, marking the second straight week a Forester has claimed the league's weekly indoor track honor.
The sophomore speedster captured the 600-meter title with a time of 1:19.44, nearly three seconds faster than his previous best and now the second-fastest mark in program history. Williams wasn't done there, helping Huntington's 4x400-meter relay finish runner-up with an automatic qualifying time of 3:14.82.
Williams and the Foresters return to action this weekend when they head to Michigan for the SVSU Jet's Pizza Invitational, slated for January 30–31.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 181 NAIA All-America honors and 631 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
