Busam’s Big Weekend Earns Crossroads League Recognition
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington University sophomore Jan Busam was named the Crossroads League Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week following an outstanding performance at the Bellarmine Open over the weekend at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Ky.
Busam turned in two impressive performances against a strong field that included NCAA Division I competition, posting a pair of provisional qualifying marks. The sophomore speedster hit B-standard marks in both the 200-meter and 400-meter events, qualifying for nationals in each.
In addition to securing provisional standards, Busam captured the win in the 400 meters and finished runner-up in the 200 meters.
Busam and the Foresters return to action January 23–24 at the Crossroads of America Invitational, hosted at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 181 NAIA All-America honors and 631 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
