Foresters Battle Through Long Day at Jax 60

JACKSON, Mich. - The Huntington bowling program experienced a full spectrum of highs and lows at Crossroads League Tournament No. 4 on Saturday at Jax 60 in Jackson, Michigan, but the progress in shot-making was evident throughout the long, grind-it-out day.

The single-day CL format—three team games in the morning followed by 12 Baker games—tested focus and endurance, and the Foresters rose to the challenge on the men's side. The varsity men turned in a strong showing, finishing third out of eight varsity programs with a total pinfall of 5,287, while the JV men led for much of the day before settling into a fourth-place finish among seven teams.

Nathan Brazeau paced the varsity lineup with a 617 series (206 average) to place ninth overall, while David Kowalski led all HU bowlers with a 665 total and 221 average to finish fourth and earn a spot on the JV All-Tournament Team. John Nitengale also delivered a solid performance, averaging 196 in team play to join Kowalski on the JV All-Tournament Team.

On the women's side, it was a challenging day as both varsity and JV squads struggled to find rhythm, with varsity finishing fifth of seven (4,451) and JV placing sixth (2,945), though Amanda-Lynn Turner stood out once again by earning All-Tournament Team honors after posting a 582 series and 194 average.

The Foresters return to the lanes on tomorrow in Indianapolis for the final Crossroads League tournament of the season.
