Foresters Face Elite Field at Midwest Classic
ADDISON, Ill. - The HU bowling programs took on one of the toughest fields of the season, competing at the ISBPA/Kegel Midwest Classic on January 17–18 at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois. The Tier 1 event featured a demanding format—five traditional team games on Saturday followed by 16 Baker games on Sunday—and brought together some of the top programs in the country.
The Forester men battled their way to a 28th-place finish out of 68 teams, rolling a total of 7,963 pins over the two-day event. Leland Jones led the charge individually, averaging 208 across five games and finishing 67th out of 473 competitors.
On the women's side, the Foresters placed 38th out of 55 teams, totaling 6,882 pins for the weekend. Aurora Yantz paced HU with a 190.5 average, earning a 53rd-place finish among 366 bowlers in a deep and competitive field.
With another Tier 1 experience in the books, Huntington now turns its focus to the Crossroads League Tournament #4, set for January 30 in Jackson, Michigan.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
