Strong Finishes for Large and Jones Highlight Southern Collegiate Classic
MARIETTA, Ga. - The Huntington bowling teams rolled into Atlanta last weekend for their second Tier I tournament of the season—the Southern Collegiate Classic—hosted at a pair of Bowlero centers in Marietta, Georgia. The event featured five traditional team games on Saturday followed by 16 Baker games on Sunday.
The HU women turned in a solid performance, finishing ninth out of 14 teams. Leading the way was Emma Large, who claimed 13th place individually among 99 competitors with a strong 190.6 average over five games.
On the men's side, the Foresters placed 16th out of 23 teams. Leland Jones paced HU with an impressive 7th-place finish in a field of 190 bowlers, averaging 220.6 through five games.
Next up for the Foresters is the Raider Classic this weekend.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 181 NAIA All-America honors and 631 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
