Sparks named to Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The National Awards Committee and Small College Basketball recently announced the Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List for the 2024-25 season with Huntington's Lane Sparks named to this elite list of college basketball players from around the country.
The Top 100 Watch List consists of the top players from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA. The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations include season statistics, individual achievements and awards, personal character and team achievements.
This is the ninth year of the Bevo Francis Award. On February 15, the list will be reduced to the Top 50 players. One month later, the Top 25 players will be announced with the finalists and Bevo Francis Award winner declared this spring.
Sparks currently leads the Foresters in scoring by tossing in 21.8 points per night. Additionally, he posts 4.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals per outing. To date, the 6-3 guard has scored 1,916 points in green and white to sit ninth on HU's all-time scoring list.
HU alum Zach Goodline also appeared on the Bevo Watch List last season having finished as one of the final 25 finalists for the Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 160 NAIA All-America honors and 567 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
