Anglin’s Big Weekend Earns League Recognition
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Crossroads League has taken notice of RJ Anglin. The Huntington junior has been named the Crossroads League Pitcher of the Week after turning in a dominant performance that powered the Foresters to a 12–1 win over Olivet Nazarene.
Anglin was electric on the mound, improving to 2–0 on the season after firing a six-inning gem. He struck out 11 batters, allowing just one run on two hits and two walks.
The week also showcased Anglin's versatility. In Saturday's nightcap against the Tigers, the junior stepped into new territory as a position player, earning his first two collegiate at-bats as Huntington's center fielder. In just his second plate appearance, Anglin delivered an RBI single, adding offense to an already memorable weekend.
Anglin's impact has been a key factor in Huntington's strong start to the season, as the Foresters sit at 6–1 overall. He and the Foresters return to action next week with a four-game series at MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas, scheduled for February 12–13.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 181 NAIA All-America honors and 631 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
