Trojans take it to Huntington

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The HU baseball team opened up its regular season series with #RV Taylor University (32-10, 12-5) Wednesday afternoon at Forest Glen with a 9-1 loss to the Trojans. The Foresters have struggled a bit as of late having lost four of its last six contests.

Frame’s crew got off to a good start by taking the game’s first lead in the bottom of the second when DH Matt Kunce knocked in Nick Davit who led off with a single and stole second before scoring his team’s only run.

Despite logging ten hits on the night, the Foresters wouldn’t find home again while their visitors, who also collected ten hits, were much more efficient at the plate to hand HU its worst loss of the year. The Trojans scored four runs in the third and did so again in the seventh before adding one more in the ninth.

Huntington sent five Foresters to the mound with starting pitcher Connor West taking the loss. He threw the first 2.1 innings and gave up one hit, two runs and two walks while striking out two.

Jamar Weaver, Adam Roser and Jake Hansen each posted a pair of hits for the Foresters.

HU (13-16, 11-4) hosts Bethel this weekend with a single nine on Friday and doubleheader on Saturday.
