Forester Women’s Soccer Leads the Way in the Classroom

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington University women's soccer has been named the recipient of the department's annual Academic Excellence Award after posting the highest team grade point average among HU's athletic programs during the 2025-26 academic year.

The Foresters claimed the top spot with an impressive 3.64 team GPA.

The annual award recognizes the Huntington athletic team with the highest cumulative GPA for the year and highlights the department's continued commitment to excellence in the classroom in addition to competition.

"Our student-athletes continue to represent Huntington University at an exceptionally high level in the classroom," said Lori Culler. "Balancing the demands of academics and athletics is no small task, and the commitment, discipline and consistency shown across all of our programs this year is certainly worth celebrating."

The honor also reflects the strength of Huntington's athletic department as a whole. All 20 Forester athletic programs finished the year with a cumulative GPA above 3.0. 

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 181 NAIA All-America honors and 631 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. Huntington has a top quartile ranking in the 2026 U.S. News Best Regional Universities Midwest Rankings.
