2021 Cheer Tryouts

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING OUR 2021 TRYOUT PROCESS

We are so excited to be able to hold in-person tryouts this year. Our in-person tryouts will be Saturday, April 17 in Platt Arena from 12:00-5:00 p.m. If you can not attend in person tryouts you can submit a video.

IN-PERSON TRYOUTS (CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC):

When: Saturday, April 17 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.
Where: Platt Arena

Schedule of Events:
11:45 a.m. Check-in at Platt Arena
12:00-2:00 p.m. Review and learn material, cheer, chant and dance
2:00-4:00 p.m. Stunting and tumbling (This is going to be for bonus points - we encourage you to showecase yoru highest level skill.)
4:00-5:00 p.m. Announcement of team

Things to Note:

All candidates should wear a t-shirt, shorts and gym shoes.
All candidates msut wear a mask in the HU facility and will have their temperature checked upon arrival.

APPEARANCE FOR BOTH IN-PERSON AND VIDEO SUBMITTANCES:

FEMALES: All females are to look "game ready." Natural make-up should be worn. Hair should be pulled back from your face either half up/half down or a high pony. You may wear a bow, but it is not required.
MALES: All males are to look clean cut and clean shaved. You can have facial hair as long as it is kept up.

VIDEO SUBMITTANCE TRYOUTS:

Please fill out an tryout information packet and email it to Coach (Smith) Esque at ssmith@huntington.edu. Tryout paperwork - click here.
Video submission is due by Saturday, April 24.
Game day material for the tryout video can be found by clicking here.
Record yourself performing the game day material and send link to Coach (Smith) Esque at ssmith@huntington.edu.
Coach (Smith) Esque and judges will review videos by Sunday, April 25.
Candidates will be notified by Sunday, April 25 if they have made the squad.
